The Duck Inn, which dates from the early 18th century, is a classic of its kind, with great period character and a tremendous ambience. Located at Newney Green, near Writtle in Essex, the Duck Inn nestles in quiet, glorious countryside, yet is only a few minutes drive from Chelmsford, the county town, the A12 & A414.

The Duck Inn is decorated in a traditional country style, with oak tables and country chairs, exposed beams, and a huge feature brick fireplace that links the two bars. Outside there are more delights in the shape of our extensive gardens with ponds and lawns.

We can offer you reception facilities from a few to hundreds! Whatever the size of your wedding party we can offer great food in a relaxed atmosphere with ample parking. And if the party is big enough you can have the whole pub & grounds to yourself!
